I am an Atlanta Georgia based photographer.
I have always been interested in photography, as a military brat, I spent my youth moving constantly from state to state and even other countries.  So, needless to say, there was a lot of film shot documenting our travels and life abroad.  Aside from the family camera, this would remain the extent of my photography experience for many years.  It wasn't until my own enlistment that the U.S. Military gave me the opportunity to go to a school taught by FBI technicians on evidence collection and low light photography.  I would later use this skill on a daily basis overseas in theater.
I would later get my introduction to commercial photography as the photography assistant to the award winning, and former National Geographic, photographer Don Sparks, of Atlanta. In the years that I spent as his assistant I would learn the many aspects of studio photography and on location shooting, and lighting, lots and lots of lighting....and even more lighting. During this period I started to develop my own techniques and areas of focus. With a background in engineering and technology, I would increasingly find myself studying the latest in photography technology, from cameras to lighting, and software, a habit that remains true to this day, yes, I am definitely a gadget guy.
Eventually I took the leap and started my own studio in the Grant Park area of Atlanta. Initially my areas of focus were in Portraiture, head shots, and glamour. Eventually I expanded into other studio work by adding fashion and boudoir to my repertoire. As an outdoors-man, my personal passion is landscape and outdoor photography so I started taking on location work as much as possible, and during my travels I would take advantage of the locations to take stock photography as well.  This was not enough for me, so after a lot of clawing, scratching and a whole lot of networking and badgering I managed to land some stringer work (photojournalism) so with press badge in hand and a gear bag I was on my way. Of course, that would eventually lead to ventures in event coverage.
In September 2017 the building that housed v0ightlander studio's was sold, and was going to be demolished to make way for a new high rise condo complex. Faced with the reality of finding suitable studio space in Atlanta, I once again teamed up with my former mentor and friend Don Sparks and moved to studio 668, one of the longest running studios in Atlanta. Aside from Don I am the only resident photographer in the studio location.  Recently, in addition to our own projects, Don and I do collaborate on workshops.  We usually host a workshop every couple of months on everything from basic studio to intermediate and advanced workshops ranging from everything from lighting, to working with a model and hair and makeup artists.
Studio 668 is located in the heart of the "photo district" on the western edge of midtown near Georgia Tech University - Atlantic Station and Professional Photo Resources.

........And now you know a little bit about me.  I do not post what pictures are published or not.  I do NOT believe that is what makes a photographer accomplished. I prefer to let my work speak for itself.
